PRESS RELEASE
The Okanagan Valley Wine Train is parked! April, 2004 OKANAGAN VALLEY WINE TRAIN - 2004 It is with regret that we announce that the financing from the investment group has still not fallen into place and the Nagel Family has decided to suspend operations of the Okanagan Valley Wine Train for the 2004 season. The Okanagan Valley Wine started operations in 1999 and is now a well-established five-hour scenic family rail excursion that has excellent community support in the area. The Supercontinental Train Cars that make up the Okanagan Valley Wine Train were built in 1954 and are the last of their series in Canada. We are very proud of the fact that we were able to secure this important piece of history and are determined to keep the train in Canada and in the Okanagan Valley. We firmly believe that it is a viable and exciting tourism product and we stress that this is only a suspension of operations - we are more determined than ever to get back on track in the Okanagan Valley. We are continuing to work very hard to establish a strong investment partnership that will enable us to re-launch the Okanagan Valley Wine Train for the 2005 season.
